P1000 Lt tires and rims

So after 5100 plus miles one of my quad boss 846’s got a sidewall tear. I’m looking to go to 15” wheels and lt tires as they’re now legal in Wisconsin. I do a lot of road riding but also a bit of trail riding and working around my hunting property. I think I want to go with beadlocks to make sure I can keep them seated if I need to lower my pressure. This is mostly a work machine and I’m not looking for the coolest looking wheels, I just want something functional and as economical as possible while maintaining my needs. I’ve done a bunch of searching and reading on here about tires and wheels and I’m still as confused as ever. I’m wanting to purchase 5 tires and wheels so I’ll have a spare if needed. I’m sure I can come up with plenty of options for the tires themselves locally but I’d really appreciate some help in locating the best option for a 15” beadlock wheel that’s on the lower end of cost. Input on tires would be appreciated as well but not necessary. Thanks.

There is alot on wheels and tires on here to confuse you cuz so many start new threads about them.
That said, your Thread title (if thats what you typed?) should have narrowed it down pretty dam good.

As for bead locks at the lower end?

Seriously, there really isnt one and if there where i wouldnt trust it not to leak. Buying bead locks, u get what u pay for.

As for same size tires all the way around, yup thats the way to go.
As for an LT tire, pic your poison.
Just buy what you think looks good and for the type of terrain u drive.
Thats the thing about tires brands and styles, what works for me or others might not work for you. As Forest Gump once said….
“Lifes like a box of chocolates you never know what one your gonna get” goes for tires on a UTV too.

Size will also determine what your rig is, stock? 28’s only,
Arms, aftermarket shocks? Totally different ball game.

As far as wheels (that won't break the bank) are concerned, I put Tusk Unita 5+2 15x7 beadlocks on the P1K5 (1" spacer on fronts, 1.5' spacer on rears) and System3 SB-4 6+1 17x7 beadlocks (1.5" spacer on rears only) on the Talon. Wish like hell I had put the System3 wheels (maybe a different style, but same manufacturer) on both. Yes, both made in Ghi-nah, but I really liked the System3 wheels.

For tires, I put Tusk Aramid 10-ply 30x10-15 on the P1k5 and AMS M1 Evil 32x10x15 on the Talon. Wish like hell I had put the M1 Evils on both. But ... the Evils aren't a budget tire at all. TBH, the Aramids are pricey, too, compared to actual budget tires. For both in 32", the M1s are nearly 30% more than the Aramids, but are a far superior tire, especially on the beadlocks. I doubt I'll ever by a Tusk tire or wheel again.

For a pure budget tire that does well (assuming you'll be doing mostly trail and roads but only mild mud and snow) and you want them to last a long time, check out the Achilles Desert Hawk M/T.

You will have to check your laws because some states do not recognize beadlocks as legal. For tire size recommendations we need to know your machine setup. Is it stock height or lifted? Stock or aftermarket arms?
UTV wheels in general are still covid priced. Some tires are starting to get slightly back down in price.

I also am like bubbadoyle , I have a pioneer 1000 and I want to go with a 15'' wheel and some type of lite truck tire, I dont want spacers so what size rim a 15x7 but what off set? Everything is stock.

If you're not upgrading your stock suspension, I personally wouldn't bother buying 15" rims. I'd likely just keep the stock rims and run something like a 28x10-14 all the way around. Then throw a tire on a stock FRONT wheel for a spare. Also, running a 28" tire on a 15" rim (versus 14" rim) means less sidewall - not good for most SXS use.

That's about the only way to go "functional and as economical as possible" like @Bubbadoyle wants.

Because if I'm dropping coin on new wheels and tires - 15" wheels or not - I'm upgrading my suspension to go with bigger than 28" tires, none of which is economical.

I'm looking for new 30s and might try a truck tire. I bought a cheap set of 15" wheels. I like my EFX motovators but not at nearly $300 each .

I have been looking at the Forceum m/t 08 or opposite end of the price list is the System 3 x450

28’s is all will fit stock, or u will rub without aftermarket arms. Harder to find in 15’s. 14’s all day. Might want to check the LT235’s not sure hight in inches

Wish I had put them on the P1K5 instead of the Tusk Aramids. Many say longevity will be outstanding, too.

$260 per tire and only rated for 780lbs at 18psi. Too light duty for a pioneer. Interesting tread pattern.

True. Forgot about the load rating, although I'd rarely haul even close to ~1,300 pounds.

True, but I wouldn't haul that kind of weight @ 11-12 PSI. But I hear what you're saying and agree. Likely not a good match if you use your Pioneer mostly for utility/hauling/towing.

Achilles desert hawk LT/MT 30x9.5x15 on MSA BeadLocks
Going on the 5th yr and 3k miles on them. Been to RRB alot, sugar sand and Drummond 4 times as well. Have held up well. And ride on the road good not much noise. I like them. When I upgrade, only reason I would buy something different is only cuz Ive had the same tire for many years and want a change. Then ill kick myself for doing so!

Pd $99 each before Biden Economics fuc’d everything up

If you choose aftermarket wheels you require spacers. Unless you use aftermarket wheels with factory offset front to rear. Factory wheels are different widths and offset front to back. I strongly recommend purchasing aftermarket wheels that are all the same offset and width and use spacers. This way you can rotate wheels and extend tire life.

There are some rare manufacturers that offer 28" LT tires. The 28" true LT is generally a "specialty" size and therefore sometimes more expensive.

A 235/75-15 should measure around 28.9" x 9.3". There are variances in manufactures and I believe some members on here have used that size on a stock machine but I can't remember their names.

Interco makes the Sniper 920 that is UTV rated DOT that can be ordered in a 28" size.

I was planning on going with the 235 75 r 15'' tire (not sure which tire yet) same size rim on all 4 corners. Im just not sure what off set I need !! Anyone know this ?
