I have a 2016 1000. I just snorkeled. I also relocated all vent lines to the roof. Everytime I go into water above dash I lose engine power. Even with the throttle pegged I only get idle rpms. As soon as I get the vehicle out of the water full power restores immediately. Any ideas?

I will watch you and your videos all day but I only have a snorkel in case I misjudge a mud hole I have to cross on a trails depth and have that OS moment.

It fun to watch but I’d never intentionally put my machine in water that deep.

Maybe O2 sensor or wheel speed sensor is shorting out under water?

resistance on the exhaust
water shorting something or EVERYTHING!
Just trying to push a ton of water (they are not very hydrodynamic)

Seriously, your Pioneer is not going to last long if you keep doing that. EVEN IF IT IS FUN!

your not losing power your just pushing water. Its a gear driven machine not a belt drive so your rpms are only going up relative to your wheels turning . With a belt drive you have some slip that lets the motor rev higher when faced with resistance . Waters heavy and your only going to push it so fast .

Yall all know riding in water is fun and if given the chance on a hot summer day wouldn't pass up a ride in across a deep creek. Hell, we strived for that at the takeover even had a team ready to go but couldn't find a hole deep enough.

Anyways,
There are only a few things it could be.
Backpressure is too much or a wire short.
I know long ago when I road in water. My Rincon had a crack in the spark plug holder. When it hit the deep water it would kill it. Took me forever to figure this out.

And, Welcome to the club. I wish you luck and want to see some pictures/videos.
