I had the Honda dealer install Honda’s LED light bar on my 2022 Pioneer 1000-5. It operates fine with no issues. The rocker switch that comes with the light bar has no lights and has just two wires (one white, the other white with a black stripe) connecting to the rocker switch. I‘d like to replace it with a 5-pin rocker, but need some guidance on how to treat the two existing wires so it’s compatible with a 5-pin rocker. Thanks.

Hi.

So I am assuming it is positive switched.
We need to find out which wire is the source and which is fed.
I will assume white is the source.
I will also assume it's on a key-on circuit and not constant.

So
White to #2 and black to #3.
You can jump #2 to #6 to get lower led.

Thanks. Let me see if I understand you correctly.
”Black to #3” - Is this my white wire with a thin black line?
”Ground 7 & 8” - Do I jump the two and wire a dedicated ground to my NEG bus bar or other suitable ground?

Given my inexperience, I was sort of guessing I had to run the white to 2,3,6 and the other wire to 8 and 7.

7 & 8 to any ground, yes jump them together.

2 is the input. White [or black]
3 is the output. Black [or white]

6 is the lower led positive.
3 is the upper led positive.

So when "on" 2 feeds 3. Thus the upper led comes on.

We need to figure out which of your 2 wires is the input. [White or black] Then put them accordingly.

If the input is a key-on source. When you can make a jumper for it over to 6 for the lower led.

Thanks. How do I determine which of the two wires is input? I have no aptitude for this.

If you have one white and one white with a black stripe, one has to be attached to a battery source and one is going to the light bar. If you don't have a multimeter then you will just have to look at the power source, and what's attached to the light to see where they are coming from.

Ok...
Do this.
Ground 7 & 8 as mentioned. Don't hook up 2 and 3.

Hook the white to #6. Did the top of switch light up?
Yes, that is the input.
Put it on #2 and black on #3

If No.
Remove white and hook black to #6.
Did the top of the switch light up?
Yes, black is the input.
Put it on #2 and white on #3

If both are no. Then report back.
Do not continue testing.

I bet the input is the black stripe.
Just realized that's the hot wire used for several other sources.
