I stopped at the local Honda dealer and $400 less in my checking account, bought a set of new takeoff tires and rims.

I’m unable to find a single thread with tire mounting pictures and opinions. I have a Dusty Dawgs carrier that I have enough **** already to fill, so I really thinking front mounting above/ front the factory bumper. My winch is mounted low.

What works? Fab myself or buy? What to buy?

Thanks, I’ve learned a bunch on my previous posts (windshields and cab doors).

Here it is today.

Planning on a Hornet Outdoors myself until I can fab up a better one. It might work for you with a front receiver plate?

I can’t find it on their web site. Can you post a link or a picture? Is it mounted in the rear hitch?

Thanks.

Thanks. In my case it looks like it will block the license plate and the gate on the Dusty Dawgs.

I’m interested to see any front factory bumper mounts.

I brought my trash to the transfer station yesterday, and as-is the local custom folks put useful items on the side. I picked up an unknown piece of ag equipment, brand new with great square tubing. I think I can build a front rack with no welding and U bolts. I’ll post pictures of the project.

A piece might be longer and turn into a bumper under the headlights too.

I made my front spare tire mount. Used 1 1/2 inch aluminium tubing, aluminium flat bar and bolts for u clamps and fabed a steel bracket to go over top of stock Bush guard with a 1/2 bolt to hold spare tire in position. Used nylock nut and is same size as p5 lug nuts
Have used for a year with no issues

Nice.

Do you have a winch mounted below it?

Can you post a couple pictures taken closer for details?

How do you hold the tire to the mount?

I picked up some U bolts yesterday to get the project started, but keep wondering if instead mounting it behind the driver on the Dusty Dawgs rack might be better. It would be proud of the roll cage by a couple inches, but higher up. No possible interference with the winch.

I have top mounted winch and I have to take tire off to use it but only takes 30 seconds.
Tire is a great bumper.
Used 1/2 inch bolt 6 inches long grade 8 bolt 6 to hold tire in place with stock rims. Nut is 3/4 same as wheel lug nuts. Mount will work with your winch.

Thanks for the pictures. Being close to the winch which I use to hold the front of my trailer is a concern.

I’m taking measurements and think I can mount the spare on the Dusty Dawgs rack either on the back gate (may have clearance issue with it opening 90 degrees) or behind the driver (it’s about 4” proud of the roll cage).

Two 4x12 1/4”” steel plates and some drilled holes. I’ll post pictures.
