Hello all. Glad I found this place. Been reading for a while and found answers to a lot of my questions. Have a lot more info to find. I want to thank everyone in advance for your help.

Just bought a 24 P1000-3. I needed something to plow my driveway and pull some lawn care equipment around. I was really hoping this machine would be sporty enough to make occasional trail trips and so far, I'm pleasantly surprised at its sport-ability. Lots of mods I want to do (thats half the fun right?) and I look forward to learning from you all.

I included a pic to appease the 'pics or it didn't happen' crowd.

Welcome!

We ride the Sierra Crest on a Pioneer 1000, very very capable of tough off-road adventures!

Recommend duct tape latches on doors and dump bed to quiet the rattles that will pop up when 4wding. Consider a spare tire, winch and seat covers for the long rides, also air-down the tires a bit. We have all sorts of recovery and survival gear stowed away in ours. It's a huge fun adventure trail-riding all over the beautiful mountains and valleys with our dogs, we enjoy exploring remote nature so very much!

Enjoy!

Welcome from MI. That 1000-3 is capable of most anything you're going to do with it.

Best advice about what mods to do or which accessories to add: Research WELL before spending your money. There are plenty of things you CAN do, but few that you really must/should do. These forums cover all these ad nauseum, so read up. Your riding style and environment will (and should) dictate your changes.

Looks like those are aftermarket tires and wheels?

I gorilla taped the latches the first day I had it. Those rattles were very annoying.

I did get a spare but haven't figured out how/where to mount it on the machine yet. I just strap it in the bed for now when we go on long rides.

Got the winch put on last week and look forward to getting stuck so I can use it. Mainly for plowing though.

I got a set of Tusk Terrabytes (5) for cheap from a guy local. Seem ok so far. At least they are all the same size and came with a spare. Where I live, there are several places close to me that I can ride offroad but have to take blacktop to get there so these seemed like a good AT tire. Much more quiet on pavement than the stock tires.

I eventually want to get a set of bigger tires more suited for mud but I know I need some mods first to clear anything much bigger. Looking at the SATV offset arms now. Any opinions?

Thank you all for the welcome!! Glad I found an active forum to help me spend $$ wisely.

If you put a piece of fuel line over the bed latch it does wonders. Won’t last forever but is an easy replacement.

Reguarding the door rattles.
Make sure you are shutting it hard enough to catch the second stage.
It's a 2 stage lock.
First stage will rattle alot.
Second stage holds tighter.

We used a hitch mount spare tire holder on our 2021 700, but I still don't know if it will fit the 2024 1000 as we don't have the spare tire yet...haven't tried it. It really seemed to help our 700-2's handling on rough trails....like it balanced out our weight in the front a bit or something. Don't buy the cheapest one on Amazon, the weld broke on our first ride with that one...we got a more expensive unit that the tire sits on top of the shaft itself, not on a weld.

Does anyone know if those spare tire holders that attach to the rear cage and swing out with a gas can mount fit the 2024 P1000-5?
