I have a 2016 700-4 with 108 hours on it problem is when it gets warmed up good the transmission will not engage after a stop and go until the motor rpm goes up this causes a jerk to the machine any ideas?
Hi GrandpaJ, Welcome to the forum. I have a 14 that is broke in and I think I can relate to what you may be mentioning. Mine will do it at times after it's hot. Rpms come up a bit before moving and a slight jump. I have always run Honda GN4 and always overfill it a bit on oil since new. I don't worry about it though it might catch you off guard when trying to just move.I have a 2016 700-4 with 108 hours on it problem is when it gets warmed up good the transmission will not engage after a stop and go until the motor rpm goes up this causes a jerk to the machine any ideas?
Yes, both are run off same oil supply.I took to dealer they could not find any issue changed oil said all good
Does motor and transmission share same oil?
Yes, both are run off same oil supply
I am not sure what oil the dealer used is there a recommended oil anyone uses? It seems to me maybe oil to thin
It has a torque converter and and automatic clutch 3 speed transmission, much like a car of yesteryear. Like stated earlier, this powertrain is based off Honda Rincon ATV first appearing about 2006 at 650cc then bumped to current 680cc around 2008. I had two of them, no problems but they certainly had thier quirks in cold weather or when engine wasnt warmed up (actually oil temp) as they would be sluggish or hesitant to move until warmed up fully.Does the 700 have clutch solenoids?
How exactly does the clutches engage?
