P1000 Hole in CV Boot

Does anyone have a video on how to change the outer CV boot on P1000 LE? Noticed a hole and am waiting on the part to get here. Any help is greatly appreciated

Note that to change the outer boot you will have to also remove the inner boot - they do make a device that will allow you to slide a boot over the outer but I have never tried that.

You can replace the outer boot by removing the CV from the shaft. The axle shaft has a spring clip on it similar to the spring clip going into the diff. A swift hit with a hammer will pop the outer CV apart.

Good to know - I have never hear that - hopefully I will not have a chance to try

I did on the last one..same outer boot...like todd said. Pull the boot clean off grease, punch and hammer to knock bearing and race off the shaft. Easy peezee

what tools are needed to replace a torn boot? the outer boot is ripped from a limb trying to be sure the have the tools at my cabin to tackle this ....
