P1000m5 Helppp how to drain gas tank

Think I got some awful gas and water in gas tank and pioneer won't crank it will try and if it does fire it has very low idle then dies

Pull the tank and dump it out? Maybe you could un hook the lines from the top of the tank and hook up a new line to it and use the fuel pump to empty it. That or buy a fluid evaluator. I have a mighty vac brand one that i use at work and its pretty decent.

Thanks really freaking out that my 20k side by side won't start looked at the gas and it had a greenish tint so I thought that's not good

So i had my tank out in about 20 mins, when i made up some rock protection/sliders. The lines will unclip after you slide the rubber gromet towards the tank or away from the rubber line. Just move it back and squeeze the two tabs inward. Then remove the plastic cover that wraps around it and remove the strap bolts that holds the tank down. Wish you the best of luck and let every one know if it wasnt just bad fuel. Lots of knowledge on this site. Some one will have an answer to your question or concern.

I GOT THE SAME ISSUE. I SHOULD HAVE VENTED ALL THAT BUT LIVE AND LEARN. I'M IN THE PROCESS OF DRAINING MINE AS WELL. YOU MAY WANT TO CHECK YOUR TRANNY BC IF YOU HAD WATER IN THE GAS THEN IT'S A GOOD POSSIBILITY YOU GOT WATER IN THERE AS WELL. I'M DRAINING EVERYTHING TO BE SAFE

Hi fellas. I would like to revive this thread.
My brother in law and I each have 2016, 17 P1000-5’s. We slowly traversed a sand bottom beaver pond and got stuck with water at top of seat. About 20 minutes down the trail both our engines started to sputter and stall. We were able to manually pump out water to limp home. Where are the fuel filters and can I take top of tank off?

The only filter is the fuel pump sock.
You can pull the fuel pump out and get into the top of the tank that way if you don't want to remove it.

Hi. Thanks for the tip. We took tank out and disassembled everything but did not have courage to take fuel pump housing apart to look inside it so I just thoroughly cleaned with gas/heet mixture reassembled, pumped it out hose end to clear it. Hooked hose back up and it drove good for a 4 mile test.

My Pioneer was a Texas flood victim when I got it complete submersion everything had water in it, I was to lazy to pull the fuel tank I just turned the metal ring that holds the pump down and lifted it out and pumped all the fuel out and dried it up with a towel.

I plan to avoid deep water again but will raise the vent lines just in case.

My Pioneer was a Texas flood victim when I got it complete submersion everything had water in it, I was to lazy to pull the fuel tank I just turned the metal ring that holds the pump down and lifted it out and pumped all the fuel out and dried it up with a towel.

I have a battery operated siphon pump that I just shove down the filler neck. If you have the drivers side jacked up you can get almost every last bit out.

I have had to drain my tank twice. I used the shake style siphon from Harbor Freight both times and it worked good. It got almost every last drop out, and once I refilled with fresh gas it was good to go.
