Hi,
I had an older guy contact me for help on replacing his OEM FACTORY wiper switch with a lighted one and I need your help as I haven't owned or touched a wiper system.

I saw the wiring diagrams for the DIY wiper system but I can't find any on replacing the factory switch.

He has the OEM system, wiper and switch setup for his Pioneer 1000 installed by the dealer.
I know we are going to have to re-pin the connector but in what order for what switch?

I do not have this unit in hand to check anything.
I will have some pics of the switch sent soon.
Until then, this is all the info I have.

Any help would be great.
Thanks.

No, it's not lighted, thats what we are wanting to do.
It is just an on/off switch with 5 pins being used.

hmm thats weird usually the 8 prongs are lighted. unless it was wired for lighted but non lighted switch or its an on/off/on switch wired so it could run intermittent and constant with a on/off switch.

But good news.
I was able to modify a DPDT On/Off/On into a DPST On/On switch.
Sending to client to test.

Final product.
Record wire pin location.
Remove from housing.
Reconnect to wire in same location.
Ground the long green wire.
And done.
Switch should function complete with backlighting.

Add pics once final is tested.
