Just spent the past weekend riding portions of Indian Ridge, Pocahontas, and Pinnacle Creek. We stayed at the Ashland resort, it was clean and comfortable at a great rate. My P1000-5 ran great the only complaints I have is the rear doors rattling and the engine heat coming through the seat which I will be working on these issues this week . I will mention the 1000-5 is a little nose heavy when taking to the air. LOL All in all she hung with the razors in our group. I know Honda didn't intend to compete with the 1000 XP's but by no means were they beating me up.

Thanks for sharing the vids and pics, been to Ashland Resort a few times always was a great stay and the trails never disappointed. Glad to hear your Pioneer 1000 did the trick for you.

Great picks and good to hear you had no problems. I live in that area and guess we are spoiled as we can leave the house and be there in minutes. I do hope they open Ashland company store again. Great history of days gone by.

Is the Ashland company store the green painted building on the left, when headed towards the resort? We will for sure be back. I would like to find a local contact down there, to show us some of the "local trails" or "outlaw trails". We are always up for riding with and meeting new folks.

Yes it is on the left going in. I spoke to a couple of ladies at Ashland resort about a month ago and they indicated it may open this spring. I am old enough to remember the company stores in all the old communities. Not old enough to shop at them lol.

Has anyone else been on this trail system? I'm thinking about making the trip up there.

Several times we have been there. Stay near Ashland Resort and you have direct access to 4 trails system sections. Last trip did over 600 miles in 4 days.

I am also planning a trip here. I was wondering if I would be getting into something that I would rather not deal with. I do not ride fast, do not like big deep mud holes. Just wanted to go ride somewhere different and take in the scenery with my wife and daughter. I will be staying on the easy sections and am hoping that we won't have to deal with a bunch of crazy obnoxious fools. I just want to tootle along and take in the nice scenery.

The majority of riding at off road parks has just what you are looking for. As far as mud and steep incline they will have those too, but it's not usually the main attraction.
