I have use Honda front/rear when at the dealership getting other items, but you can get 80-90WT, Hypoid oil at any of the big box stores, synthetic or not....

Went by the local Honda dealership today and got some diff oil. They told me the front holds about 5 oz and the rear holds about 8 oz . But my owners manual says the front holds 22.5 oz . I guess I will see who is right tomorrow when I change it

The manual is correct....It is strange...the front holds a bunch...and the rear just a little..
Get you a good small spout flexible funnel..makes it easier...plenty of rags. The gears are real close to the opening, so it is a little tricky to get a funnel spout in there unless it is small.

I think synthetic oil is ok if you don't change it much, I ride in water from time to time so I tend to change the oil more often and can't see spending the extra money on the synthetic.

I'm running Amsoil in mine. I think it quieted the rear end down a little bit.

I just serviced my front and rear diffs and installed synthetic 85-140. Ran some hard trails yesterday and noticed a quieter drive train.

I know this is a really old post, but I put in 75w90 Mobil one synthetic that I had already. It almost silenced my rear end noise... I really only hear the engine noise now. So you don’t have to go with heavy weight synthetic to quiet the rear end down, as long as it’s a quality synthetic.
