P1000 fumoto valves

Has anyone tried the fumoto valves to see if they would work for the oil changes?

Don't know how to link it, but the valve would replace the drain screw. It has a lever to drain the oil. Use it on my truck and car. You can get L shaped drains too. Makes drain the oil much easier.

I’ve been wondering if this would work on my P1k5.


I’d just tuck the hose up out of the way when not draining.

It works awesome on my ztr mower. It came with one from the factory.

My next oil change I’m going to try and see if I can get one to fit. Tired of the messy oil change.

We have them on a couple of machines at work and it doesn’t seem like they work the way I think they should. It takes over an hour to drain 4qts of oil through them. Maybe it’s designed that way to keep all of the oil from draining out in the event that the lever gets inadvertently flipped to the drain position but it’s a pain in the a$$ when trying to do a quick oil change.

I have been using one on my motor home for years and really like it. I push the drain hose on it, open it up and in the oil catch it goes. I would not use one on my pioneer but for the RV it is great.

I would be scared of damaging the case if I bashed the skid hard enough. Don’t forget there are two drain plugs for the engine oil.

I thought about trying them on my first oil change. I've used them for years on my vehicles with no issues. I'd think they'd be plenty protected with my factory utv skid plates.

Depending on how you ride, in my case they would be fine as I'm not a rock crawler or mudder. Anyone know what the bolt/tread size is, I would like to give them a try on all 3 drains. If someone can give the sizes needed I will keep everyone posted.

My 2011 RZR 900 was a real PITA to drain the oil from the oil tank. I installed one to make is easy to drain the tank. They hang down too much on most UTV's and if you bump it you may lost all the engine oil.

I use/have used Fumotos with great success for years on variety of vehicles. Unfortunately these valves would not fit all 3 locations on my Pioneer 1000. And yes, it is susceptible to damage because of limited clearances to skid plate, especially the flimsy OEM protection. I run with 1/2” UHMW skid plates. At each oil change it’s time to drop skid and clean out sand and debris anyway.

bobrhino, thanks for your reply. So you could not find the bolt/thread size in the fumoto valve. That/s too bad. Thought I might have had a good idea for a bit.

The engine drain bolts are metric M12x1.5. The sub transmission drain is M14x1.5. The casting reinforced shielding may pose a problem as well depending on particular drain valve model.

These sound like it would work?? anyone tried them on the 100-5 deluxe?? If I am understanding, you would need a 12mm and a 14mm hose correct?? Found them on Amazon

Once again, read post #14 & #16 above. Drain bolt clearances are too minimal to avoid damage and destruction from rocks, limbs and whatever else we run over on any given outing, in my humble opinion.
Thread sizes are listed too.
