Those of you with 30" tires and spares. Do you carry a fullsize or "make it back to camp stock tire".

Using a stock size would save a lot of space and some weight.

Figure it would be fine ,just not put it in diff lock.

A front tire works.
Your in an offroad environment. 30 vs a 28 want make a difference with drivetrain load.

Lots of people think thats a issue but its not. No different than the rear being locked and turning full circle.

Can I run a 12 inch stock in an a emergency case if I'm running 14 inch. To get back to point A? I have an extra set of 12 inch rims/ tires. Going on a trip next week and was considering just taking a front wheel and tire for incase situation. I

It’s the overall size of the tire that matters 12” vs 14” rim matters not if both tires are 27” tall for example.

If you have a shorter spare…it’s better than nothing at all. Just try to limit the times you run fully locked and you’ll be fine.

Thanks, it would only be if I couldn't plug a tire or bent a rim bad. I ll take one for safety.

If this is not a Pioneer 1000 OEM wheel... Check the lug pattern.

Also check to make sure the lug holes are big enough. Some of the cheaper aftermarket 12 inch steel wheels won't fit over the lugs without drilling them out just a tad.

☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️ adding to what @TripleB said, I bought a rim and tire to use as a spare.
Turns out a standard lug nut wrench won't fit in the lug holes. I bought a handful of extended lugs just for the spare.
It's not perfect, but it'll work.
Luckily, I found out about the lug holes in my garage and not on the trail.

Full size exact match wheel and tire combo. That way no matter where I am at I know all things (driveline ect...) are equal. I can also continue to ride for the rest of my trip if I am away from home.
