Front hook for tow point and tie down installed with 2x2 3/16 angle bolted to guard supports. Beveled 2x3 1/4 angle bolted to first angle to mount the hook. Front hook bolt prevents hook fron pivoting to the sides.

Great idea, thanks for sharing, I’ll look to do similar as I have hooks in my shop somewhere, or possibly drill for a Shackle.

Gregra44 got me thinking and I decided to use the KFI winching mounting bracket to mount a couple of brackets I welded up using 3/16" and 3/8" steel. Using a small shackle in the bracket for the anchoring point. Will take the shackles off before riding and put them in the tool box. Thanks Gregra44 for the ideal.

Make me a couple. They look great!
Nice. I thought about using brackets like these with square U bolts but I don't have a welder. The manufactured brackets, for bolting to loader buckets for anchoring chains, were way too expensive. Angle iron, and grandpa's old heavy duty Delta drill press, are my friends.

Yup awesome looking, I’d ( no disrespect just a suggestion) mount them so the Shackle plate is horizontal though. Less twist on the Shackle if you are pulling really hard or have a snatch block attached. Also make great tie down points for transporting will be looking to do something similar as mines a KFI winch mount too. Thanks for sharing.

Great suggestion JCart and you are correct about using them for heavy winching. I just need a good anchor point to tie down the front of the P5 inside my enclosed trailer. I'm interested in seeing your ideal so I can make a set for myself. Thanks.

Sorry for confusion Glazer, yours are puuurfect.... I’d just rotate 90 degrees, (so the blade that holds the Shackle is parallel to ground). I was thinking you had made these for anchor points for winching, not tie downs.
Nice work, man I sooo need a welder... sigh.
Cheers,
j

For tie downs I use 2” wide ratchet straps hooking inside top A-arm then going outbound over top of front tire similar on the rear. The notion here is to secure the tires down solid, not the frame/body. Where I work, logging access and resource road are rough. Typically if you just hook to the frame the suspension compresses on a big bump(s) and ratchet will fall off, or will tear loose. When I secure machine wheels down only, it will use its own suspension to absorb big bumps and stay solid... hope that makes sense.
