Did a few searches on here and not finding any links of where to get the front differential seals for a 2015. Let my 500 sit for a little over 2 years (deployment) and it looks like the front differential developed a leak on both CV axle outputs. Initially it just looked like a little seepage, but after a ride last weekend it’s pretty wet around the axles. Anyone have a website to go to to order a seal kit for the front? I can find kits with seals and bearings, just not seals? Thanks!

Thanks for your service!

How bad they leaking? I'd be tempted to just clean them off with brake clean and give em another chance...

Don't know of any kits. Prob just have to get the from Rocky Mountain ATV or some place like that. Can't image they cost that much.

Well they are leaking enough to keep the dust around them wet. I’m just worried if it’s letting fluid out they may be letting junk in? I ordered a locker for the front and will have the diff out anyway so I figured 2 birds one stone?

DG,

Thanks, I ended up ordering the parts off eBay. Couldn’t find them on rocky? But...I did find the power steering 100 bucks off there so I ordered that.lol. Not sure my pocket book says thanks!

Mudder,

Yeah I guess I have been disconnected a little. I had no idea they made a locker for the 500. I ride some steep steep trails in Northern California (like make my wife ride on the front rack of my last four wheeler so we don’t flip steep) and I’ve been waiting for a locker. A little intimidated by taking apart gears, but we’ll see what happens.

Then this happened when I was tightening the front diff drain bolt today. Not to hard to get it out, luckily!!! Assuming these are aluminum? If I got a stainless steel would that be a bad idea (harder metal so it wouldn’t break but strip out the case if over tightened?). Local shops don’t have any OEM and I wanted to get it back together this weekend. Thanks!

Get stainless, or carbon steel, which is what all the cars and trucks use. And, maybe get a torque wrench so you don't strip the case... That would be a bad day...

Yeah...Honda, for all their quality and durability, uses some s***ty fasteners. In fact, I wouldn't even use the torque wrench on it. Just snug it.
I'm thinking it has a copper washer?

No idea what the crush washer is made of? It is silver, maybe some kind of tin alloy? I grabbed a zinc bolt because that’s all the place I went had. I hate zinc...so I’ll look for a replacement in stainless tomorrow.

On a side note I replaced both axle seals as well. Super simple. Pop out old ones, clean area, and push new ones back in. DG rider thanks a ton for the part numbers!

Also front diff passed the spin test, so I think I put it together correctly. Need to take her out for a spin!
