P1000 Found part.... any ideas? ** SOLVED **

Well, I took of the back of the front seat to install some seat covers, while unbolting, I could hear a pice of metal fall down. I ended up finding the pictured silver piece of metal sitting near the engine.

No freaking clue what it goes to, don't even see it align with anything for it to attach to.

It's a heat shield that goes behind the hard plastic piece and holds the rubber on. It sits right above the valve cover if I remember right.

It can be kind of a PITA to get it back on unless you have the back apart. I've had that pc off on mine for a while and no issues....

That's good to know, I'm taking my time putting everything back together right now... it's hot AF in my garage right now.

the top two holes attach w fender clips just below the seat back. it holds that rubber piece so it doesnt lay on the head
the lower one attaches near the driver seat belt (i think)
