Thanks to Farmer for informing of a issue.
This issue was related to back button problems where the browser history would record the page hit more then once thus making the back button appear to be "broken". The issue was mostly experienced when using the Internet Explorer and FireFox browsers.
Originally I thought the issue was related to Google AdSense Ads. Though AdSence appeared to be the issue we finally identified it as a script loading issue with the JavaScript and not the ads themselves. By disabling a performance feature called Rocket Loader which automatically asynchronously loads JavaScript off the CloudFlare CDN the issue was corrected and in our testing did not continue to happen.
