So I just started my 3 year rental on this new truck with the Ecoboost . With this picture here I get 12mpg. I’m a little disappointed , the 3/4 ton Chevy with the 6.0 got that. But the Chevy got that pulling nothing too. The Ford gets about 22 not pulling. I like the truck but wouldn’t buy one . If I was buying I’d get the 5.0.
What’s a new 5.0 get pulling same load? Not pulling?

My 2013 5.0 super cab 4x4 gets about 14 @ 60 towing my P500 on a 12 ft dovetail single axle trailer. About 11 @ 70+. Gets about 18.3 with nothing behind it.

I think I'm glad I'm just renting. I dont think I would like to deal with those turbos at 200K miles, but i dont know s*** about turbos. Maybe they'll be just fine. I'm happy enough with the power. I really dont know s*** about the truck. I think it has a 10 speed transmission. That sound right? Been a long time since i had a new truck.

I was just thrilled to get out of my 04 Chevy, ran great and nice truck but rusting out from underneath me. Only had 95K on it, but damm, it was falling apart. Finally pissed me off enough on a Saturday morning when I couldn't get the "DOOR AJAR" warning or buzzer to turn off, which I presume was corrosion related. Swung into a Ford dealership and they claim they were giving 13K for trade in. End of it all they got the chevy and I got a 3 year 31,500 mile for $300 a month. I only put about 5K a year on my trucks so I jumped at the deal.

I can honestly say that I didn't care what I was getting as long as I got out of the Chevy and it would pull my stuff.

The dealership claims I was getting a "hell of a deal" because they had to move 2 more trucks before the end of the month and Ford was giving them a big kickback and they were passing the savings along? Any truth to that, or just a sales pitch ? Either way I'm happy with the deal.

I got a 2017 tacoma. I get 15 at best of freeway towing. 23-25 with nothing behind me. I've talk to several guys at camp. They get about same thing. Think it is because we all end up at about same gear ratio in tranny. Only way get better or worse is to slow down or speed up.

I had a 2015 2.7 for three years and I actually really liked the truck. Fuel economy was however very critical of how I drove it. If I kept it 60-65 empty it would get 25+. I once got 29 mpg. But at 80 mph it would only get about 15-16 mpg. 70-75 it averaged 22-24

I'm really tempted to get a new F150 but I dont think the 2.7 is for me. I really like my 5.0 but I think I could drive a 3.5 with a 10 speed

The 3.5 eb is where it’s at! It doesn’t sound as good as the 5.0.. but it pulls awesome! Fuel mileage is just like what’s been said. It’s good without a load driving reasonable but when you push the limits of acceptable driving or add a load to it. Mileage is going to drop. It’s a gasser.. that’s what they do. But so do all the others!

For what’s it’s worth, the ole lady’s new Lincoln Nautilus has the 2.7EB and its AWD with 22” factory wheels like that matters lol 8 speed trans. That MFer is a GD rocket! That was in comfort mode when I took it to the store, when I left the store I put it in sport and Christ that thing lit up the wheels like a GT500! Well not quite that but close! So much fun. We have 1,600 miles on it so far and she’s averaging 25.9 mpg and she’s got led foot. I’ll take that any day in a gaser.
