EDR's have been in most automobiles and motorcycles for many years. It records data all the time, but it can't be accessed or downloaded unless an "event" is detected. It stores all sorts of data from the throttle, brakes, speed, etc. Call them "black boxes" for cars. The main purpose of these is to "aid law enforcement" - however you want to interpret that....

Now they are being put in OFF ROAD vehicles. I know that the Kawasaki KRX and Kawasaki Ridge have them. I don't know for certain if Honda does, but I suspect they do. Check your owners manual.

My wife’s Lexus overtrail beeps when my arm blocks the dash from seeing my face, something about driver inattention. My 25 year old Tacoma doesn’t even beep when I leave the headlights on and the key in the ignition. I’d rather drive my truck.

wow that's wild. But as I type this, my laptop camera is lookin at me, and my cell phone is too.... at least they don't constantly remind me that they are staring at my face. I agree, my 25 year old land cruiser is probably my favorite vehicle I've had. It's rough and has over 280k but no data collecting functions and needless tech. It just works
