Pioneer 1000-5 problem. This has been going on for a while. It will sometimes stall after a good ride and will restart immediately.
Sometimes it will have to sit a few minutes before restarting. What also happens often in colder weather is will start in the morning but it fails to restart after my morning coffee break. What I have noticed is when this happens is I don't hear the hum of the gas pump when I initially turn the key on. What I have tried is changing the Inhibitor, Fuel Pump, and Ignition relays. Also tried moving wires around in the relay area. It will sometime restart after turning the key on and off numerous times until I hear the fuel pump. ??????????????

Posting the year when you post a problem will help us help you.
What lights flash when it "stalls"? Flash code?
With the information you posted, could be
- ground wires
- spark plugs
- injector wires
- shift control motor
edit to add,
Nice to see the search is working good again.
I added links to those search items.
.
Have a good day

Check the easy stuff first.
your gounds, there are a few on the P1. When did u check your air filter or changed it last? Sounds silly, but its been known to cause these issues. Theres a thread on here when it happend. Was the damdist thing!

BTW, any pics of your rig?
been here since 17’ and all you have is a pic of a quad!
Miles, Clutch update? It is a 17’ we presume?

Did it again this morning. Started at -6F or -21C drove 1/2 mile where I stopped for 1 hour coffee. Got back to it and it didn't start.
Same as before turn key on and dash lights up but I don't hear the fuel pump. Tried putting a test light to fuel pump connector but didn't know which of four connectors should be live. Normally the fuel pump runs for 2 seconds then quits. I'm not fast enough to touch all four in 2 sec. I then turned key on then off several times, tapped on the relays andfuel pump them sometime in all that the pump started up again. Before leaving for our big trip at Mackay Idaho I will change Ignition switch and fuel pump rather than hold up the group.

My first quad was a 1998 ES 450 Forman that I put 15,000 Miles on. Then a 2005 Rubicon also for 15,000 which I still have. Then a 2016 Pioneer 1000-5 that my son drove through water and hydro lock it and blew the engine. I now have a 2020 Pioneer 1000-5.
Since my engine issue I changed the fuel injector plugs and wires, air filter, relays for fuel pump and inhibitor. My next thing will be looking for bad or loose ground. Were are from South East Manitoba.

Finally got a code this morning which I think its 73 ???.
I'm also looking for something that shows me where the ground locations are on this 2020 1000-5 SXS.

There isn't a 73 in the service codes. You're looking for long blinks and short blinks. Long blinks are 10, short is 1. So two long one short is 21

Oops on the quotes. I'm obviously not the sharpest tool in the shed. I sat on the SXS for a while and counted 7 long flashes then 3 short ones. I can't go back and check cause I think it deletes it's self after one shot.
I still can't find ground locations. I do a search for 1000-5 ground locations but no luck.
I have a service manual but its not helping me much. I've read schematics before but they don't give physical locations.

And the search works good again. 👍
For awhile there it was broke, and google was better.
.
I did a search for "engine grounds", many, many, 10 pages of threads.
Here is a search for "ground locations", 4 pages worth.
Probably more then you need. haha!
.
Have a good day

O.K. I've been looking at page 1-29 in the shop manuel and see the ground locations. What is the easiest way to get to those.

Well, I stand corrected, there is a 73. Now I have to figure out where all they've published the codes. I'm used to looking up the codes in section 4-9 where there is no 73.

Tricky...
