P700 Engaged but stopped & won't go!

2020 700-4m Was stored for winter inside. Started right up drove out of garage hit reverse an forward to line up with the trailer and all of a sudden it won't respond to forward or reverse when engaged, engine races and only moves just a little bit. Something in linkage? Transmission issue? 1800 miles and this is the first problem.

First best guess would be weak battery, or mouse chewed wires.
"BUT, but it started right up." Do a battery load test to make sure.
Our Hondas will start with a weak battery.
Then other things stop working like they should.
Any flashing dash lights?

My new 2020 left me in the woods today. "Battery went dead! What the heck? That's why I bought a new machine to avoid a long walk. This is my first Honda, do these things really have a weak charging system or not? In Michigan we are required to run our lights, no accessories just charging for...

You said u left it in storage, in our hard winters, prob no float or trickle charger huh?

Mark, I just left it set for now. I will be back to chocking things out tomorrow. I take the battery out over the winter and trickle it.

Guilty, I did forget to get back on my last issue. It wasn't a battery issue last year! Embarrassingly it was 100% operator error. Would you believe that it wouldn't start because I had it in drive and wasn't depressing on the brake? I had to eat crow that time. Just newbe dumb. Oh well.

Did you check the engine oil? My rincon got low one time and the engine would rev but it wouldn't move forward or reverse

Update! I changed the oil and filter and apparently that's all it took to get back to normal. Working fine so far. Case closed. Will keep an eye on things for a few rides.
