I did the dual battery mod in late 22. I used the Mighty max ytx14-bs. It won't even lift my snow plow. I now see the Mighty max ytx30l-bs. Did I just get the incorrect battery? I run a 6000 viper elite winch and if I am reading correctly, they state it pulls 40amps to pull 1000#, and 184amps for 6000#. Thinking 30ah isn't going to cut it. Or am I missing something. I know very little about batteries and ah and such, so sorry if this is a dumb question.

Agree with the load test. For what its worth, I use the YTX30L for a 6k Viper. Not much need for a plow in Fl. But its worked fine for pulling. 14ah battery should allow 14 amps for one hour, 28 amps for 30 min, 56 amps for 15 min. etc. If you have two batts, and the buggy is running you should have no issue lifting a plow with that battery.

That Mighty max ytx14-bs has a spec'd CCA or 200 amps. Sp as mentioned by others, if the battery is in good condition and properly charged and maintained, it should have more than enough power to operate a plow winch.

Check battery voltage, at the battery with no load (should be above 12.5 or so at rest). The with the winch operating, should not drop below 11 volts or 10.5 at the lowest. As previously suggested, a load test is a good idea, monitoring voltage while running the winch is a good load test.
