I've got a 2018 Honda Pioneer limited Edition that I love.

So this past weekend I was driving down the road at about 40 MPH and the buggy just died. I came to a stop and restarted it and went about my day. Then the next day I'm putting along on a dirt road and it quit again. Started it back up and drove it for another 2 hours with no issue. Anybody know what might be causing this?

Have any codes flashing on the dash when it died?

2400 miles. I have a steady throttle both times and no clicking noise. Battery is about a month old.

I don't know. Wouldn't even know where to start with that. Seems weird that I burned up about 2 tanks of fuel this weekend and it happened once each day. Very weird.

I had the exact same symptoms when it was the injector wire. It started out infrequent and got worse each time out riding.

Depending on which injector, your check engine indicator would tell you 12 or 13 (one long flash followed by either 2 or 3 short flashes.)

Did your oil light come on? My check engine light doesn't blink.....or at least I didn't see it blink. Kind of happens fast.

Your oil light will come on and stay on while the ignition is on but it's not started. I can't recall for sure, but I think it'll come on and stay on in the same manner if you shut down like you're describing. I remember being misled by it.

It's the check engine light (aka the MIL - Multifunction Indicator Light) that flashes the codes for you. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it only does it once after the shutdown, so you've got to be looking at it to get the code.

Long flash = 10, short flash = 1. So a 12 would be one long, two short for example.

When your riding and it dies, let it come to a stop, DON’T turn key off. MIL light should start blinking but if you turn the key off and try to start it will not blink.

Mine was code 12 injector wire, it would start back up but wouldn’t go far and I order the repair kit off the club store and I replaced both and no problem since.

I had the same type of problem about 6 months ago. The first time it did it, I coasted to a stop; turned the key off and it restarted immediately. Did it again 1/2 mile later and restarted no problem. Now I’m really frustrated as I’m riding with a bunch of RZR’s. Well, another 40 miles and it dies again. Anyway, I’m so frustrated that I never even looked for codes for the rest of the ride. After I got home, I took it out for a ride to check for codes and sure enough, I was getting a code for front injector. When it shuts off the oil pressure light will stay on until you turn the key off. Before you turn the key off the code will flash another indicator light and will keep repeating the flashes until the key is turned off. Take a video of the instrument panel before you turn the key off. I’ll try to find the test procedure post here in the forum that I used for tracing down the exact location of the fault and let you know where to find it.

I found the troubleshooting guide photos that I took when one of the members helped me with the same problem. Injector harness wires are available through the club store.

Ah, yeah, that's right. As long as you don't turn off the key, it'll keep repeating the code. Thanks for the clarification.

Did this leave you stranded or did it always start back up?

On the day it really went bad, we had to restart it about a dozen times to get home from 10 miles away or so, but it did keep starting back up.

I don't turn off the key and it doesn't blink. All the lights are off when I come to a complete stop and still have the key on.
