P700 Debris in skid plate

Almost every time I go riding, I get mainly leaves, but also other debris above my skid plates. Do you guys make sure you get all that cleaned out after each ride, or is it no big deal. I didn't know if that could cause a fire(muffler), rust, or any other issues if it built up. It's a pain to get to.

Also, for anyone that has the UHMW skid plates, does this help prevent this junk from accumulating in there or not? And when/if it does get in there, is it harder to get out since these cover more area?

I had the SSS skid plate on my P700. It did collect a lot of debris. However, after I drilled about 15 holes in the bottom that helped a lot. As for the leaves, I washed them out with a water hose often.
