P1000 Dash heat ( shifters ) solution?

I get a decent amount of heat ( presumably off the radiator) through my shifter slots on the dash. It's not that noticeable for my wife and I but it blows right in my little boys face. Anybody come up with a solution for this?

It would be nice to have a shield that could be used in the summer and removed in the winter. Maybe we could place a shield behind the radiator somewhere?
