Hey guys, I’ll start off by saying I’m no mechanic and new to SXS’s in general. I was out at the deer camp this past weekend and did some moderate riding. Basic trails and a few dead trees. As I was tying down the pioneer I notice this boot. I don’t see any leaks from it and it rides fine. I do hear some chirping from the cab but I’m sure that’s something else I knocked loose. Does this need to be replaced or is it fine as long as there are no leaks?

Can you work it back into shape?

If there are no leaks, I'd just send it and keep a close eye on it.

Is it twisted or just collapsed,. If twisted see if you can turn axle by hand . I had a retainer ring come loose on mine and it dropped the balls into the boot and twisted boot.

I think it’s collapsed. I tried messing with it but it’s pretty solid.

I’d buy a set of a-arm guards, they might have prevented that from happening.

I don't want to insult your intelligence, but the boot is there to keep dust/dirt out of the joint. You need to straighten it out enough to inspect for tears.
