Needs front frame repair. I am curious what others may recommend or just offer their thoughts.

I am thinking of sending this link to my dad and see if he is interested and I could help him repair it.

2021 Honda Talon 1000 S4X with 1,600 miles 107hrs. Runs and drives, front frame damage will need to be repaired or frame replaced. Great project or perfect start for a SXS build. I have too many projects and need to clear up space in my shop.

IMO, that buggy took a HARD hit….

I paid a bit less than that for my 2020 X4 live valve with 800 miles, but I was confident that the frame was likely straight and only needed a Rops and some missing plastics. My rig came with quite a few accessories and larger tires.

I’d start by pricing out everything in the front clip as it’s likely messed up ( front diff, radiator, fan, headlight buckets, etc, etc, etc, and then add in the cost…At PSN (powersportsnation) they just took a Talon X4 in for parts.

You’re going to have a lot of time into stripping the front end down just to get to a point that maybe you might be able get it straight again. The problem is that the stock suspension doesn’t have any real adjustments meaning you’ll need to be spot on on your straightening otherwise you’ll have funny front suspension behavior.

My guess is that you’re not that far from buying a used one with the same miles and no damage and probably with some nice accessories. It’s also quite bare for any accessories.

The missing hood alone is several hundred dollars on its own. The plastic is kinda expensive if you’re buying new to match. Maybe you can find it used on eBay etc.

Just an FYI..... There is a guy here in Texas making replacement front clips for Talons. They are HD and not built out of crap materials like stock. I have no idea how much fabrication it takes to install one or what one costs but they are available.

agree - depends on how much u think u can make when u r all said and done - u have an option to find a used frame that the front clip is good, cut it off, splice onto front clip of new machine and then figure out and source source all the other parts including a new shock.


sounds like someone didn’t have insurance - most of those end up at Copart
