The Maxxis Big Horns are know for having a wide tread and a square shoulder.
It's just the nature of the two different types of tires.
I like the idea of the Big Horns on a Pioneer 500.
500 can use a little extra width for stability.
For the Big Red, as long as they work ok for you they should be fine.
I would guess the Carlisle's would give a little softer ride but might not have as much flotation in mud.
When they are worn out you can decide which you liked better when picking your next set of tires.
