There were only two parts to switch over to Talon reverse. They're in my thread called "sub transmission service." If you stripped out your old gears, you may want to change out the Low shift fork.
I replaced my reverse and low gears in the sub-transmission this week. It was my first time going through the sub-trans, but I learned a lot that is useful to pass on to anyone getting into this. The first part of this is a guide to removing the sub-trans. You may need to get into it for...
Ok thank you. I tried seeing if anyone had done it before or not but could find anything. I will read it I'm guessing it's going to be nice to have something to look over. An no I didn't strip them out I'm just trying to help it in reverse I have bigger tires an play in sand an mudd
Maybe I’m not on here enough but I don’t recognize whose red machine is winching yours, like the looks of it and curious if there is a build thread on it or not!?
Just to update my reverse gear changeout......Working great, have a little more low-end torque in reverse. You can feel the difference with the lower gears. Had mine done at the local Honda dealer. Could have tried myself, but had no place to do it. Plus, cost $450, with my parts and seals. I am glad I did the mod for mountain use. Have a 2017 1000-3 with stock tires and suspension. If I had to do it again I would!
