Hey all,

Trying to find a good spot to mount my CB radio. Wanted to ask the others where did you mount yours, and or what would you do differently? Not many good places to mount it, as I worry about water concerns. I thought about mounting it to the roll bar near the underside of the roof but not too big on that idea either.

So share where you got em mounted, thanks in advance!

I couldn't find a good spot either.
Didn't want it up high.
I settled for this.

It's a UHF radio. No one runes CB around here.

Nice, looks good man. I thought about running the main gauge relocation kit and repurposing that area to mount the CB. I want to see what others have done before I mount it though.

Also, take that spare key off the ring man! Don't lose both at the same time, toss it in the safe! :)

Where are you planning to mount your antenna? The cable length from the antenna to the CD radio might dictate the location.

The antennas going to sit in the rear of the car, right on one of those tabs on the rear roll bar. I bought 12 ft of line so I could route all the way into the back cleanly. So, that won't be a huge issue, just hoping to find a clean mount location.

Mine is mounted up high at the roof line in front of the driver, side by side with a dual band 2m/70cm UHF radio. I just mounted these last week and haven't had a chance to try the position out yet, so I'm not certain that this is where they'll stay. I'll try to get pics and post them in the next couple of days. Weather's moving in and the Talon is down in the barn (on a battery tender :)).

Most people run frs/gmrs and not cbs. Here is my setup. I’m running TYT waterproof and magnetic mic holder and external speaker on rear between seats. Antenna is mounted on the back of machine as shown in picture.

Enjoy,

Just finished the mount, went inside the glovebox, all wiring hidden nicely and it's plenty loud enough and works like a charm. Now to get my buddies to get theirs installed so I have people to BS with lol.
