K....riding last month...noticed these clumps
of...looks like spiderwebs...on the top of
alot of sage brush..... (only sage brush)...
This evening..went on a catus hunt...there
in bloom..alot easier to spot....Bingo..Mary
spotted a good size one...next to it...sage brush
...big clump of spiderweb. ...I look cause I seen
movement..up close..was crawling with catapillers
like hundreds....was creppy...

i usually take the branch off the tree and stomp them, that may be a prob for op.

We call them Catawba worms here in the south. Maybe the same thing? They're great for fishing and killing trees.

I've always thought they were gypsy moths in the caterpillar stage. They're all over around here too.

You bet they are! Kill off trees like napalm on forest vegetation! I use 7 on them and watch them fall of the tree as I say Die M fer's die!! Nasty bastards!
