I wasn't exactly ready to buy but a dealer called and has a new 2022 pioneer 1000-5 deluxe in red. I know the 2023 announcement is coming in March. I don't have any where to store it until April but I can have dealer store it or find my own storage in the meantime. Wondering if there are any advantage to waiting or buy now and store it. What are the chances that Honda makes changes to this model in 2023?

2023 is unlikely to have changes as the 22 models had some updates in them.

Prices seem to be coming down. If you aren’t paying less than MSRP…don’t do it. My local dealer is now listing at $1,500 under MSRP on most units. Just one man’s opinion.

I'm hearing there will be shortages again with the supply chain considering how bad COVID has been in China. Most manufacturers have a price increase and if product gets short, the prices get firmer due to supply. I like the way you think, but we aren't living in normal times. We are starting to see production increases, but they say don't get accustomed, as it's a short term situation.

Ther is so much wrong with this whole question 🤣

First all your gonna get from Honda is “Bold new colors” with new model yr 95% of the time. you've been here since 21’ and should know that. Second, jump on a 22’ if they have it or you'll watch it go by like the house on the side of the road. But wait….third you have no place to store it! Then dont buy it till u do cuz paying the dealer to store it, you will buy 2 rigs buy the time you acually get a place to put it!

After two years of very slow sales Honda in unlikely to invest in building a new Pioneer for 2023 but, as others have stated, a price increase is likely.

Don't allow a salesman to make your decision. If you're not ready, don't buy. If you are ready, but it now.

Buy it now. 22 saw tremendous improvements. The 23s will be the same and Will surely cost a little more, not as much as storage. But the problem of unknown availability exists.
BUY IT NOW........
He needs a place to store it first! Storing it at the dealer, hes gonna have to squeal like a pig like Ned Beatty in Deliverance!!!

Appreciate the comments. I put a deposit on it today, they are including a roof at a discounted price. My current garage is just shy of 77 inches which is why I can't store it. If I can fit it by taking off roof then I'd rather take it now in case I can't find another deluxe model when I move into the new house with a larger garage opening. Crossing my fingers that there are no lower prices on new 2023's with more new features.

What economic indicators are you looking at that makes you think prices are gonna get lowered on a Honda Pioneer? It ain’t gonna happen. Good luck with your new machine, you are gonna love it. I didn’t get the factory hard top because my garage door is short also. The roof adds about 3”

No economic indicator other than internal Honda data will specifically predict Honda product pricing but numerous economic indicators suggest an economic recession is coming and interest rates on consumer loans will be increasing this year.

Slow sales, particularly on non-essential products such as ATVs, and high interest rates suggest a climate where mother Honda might lower MSRPs and Powersports dealers might offer discounts to stay in business.

No one with a few live brain cells believes that a Biden-socialist economy is going to be vibrant.

OP, I was out in the garage where my buggy spends it's off-duty time and thought of your overhead clearance issue.

My Honda Pioneer - 3 with Honda accessory hard top on 14" wheels with 28 x 10 x 14 tires is 6' 3" (75") tall measured to the back edge of the top of the roof. I think a new buggy will clear your 77" height. That's measured on a smooth and level concrete floor with the buggy completely empty.

Now, having said that, I DO NOT recommend you rely solely on my measurements to make a decision. I recommend you measure the buggy you're considering on the showroom or service bay floor before you make a firm decisiion.

It depends on what model pioneer 1000 you want because from what I understand they are hard to come by so you may have to wait on a 2023 model and the Honda dealer I use has a waiting list they go down if the first person doesn’t want it they just move on to the next person I think they stopped taking a deposit on anything and go by the waiting list they have a board when you walk in listing what they have coming in so good luck
