Almost 1000 miles on the stock brakes and I was probably going about 30 mph.

I find that I don't even use the brakes that much. Gears seem to slow you down pretty quick.
Good to know though.

I'm a big animal softie. If I had wounded him, he'd be living in my house until I nursed him back to health. LOL Don't worry... I'm not a tree hugger or anti-hunter or anything dumb like that.

Mine has very low mileage and I find my brakes don't work as I had expected, certainly not like car brakes. It seems if they aren't used much, and are wet and dirty, they hardly work at all. I don't really ever use them though, tough enough to keep moving forward where I ride.
