Every fall I get together with a group of buds for a 4-5 camp. Over the years we've gone from dirt bikes to quads and most of us now have sxs's. I only see most of these guys once a year and they are all like brothers to me in exception of my brother because he is my brother. On Sept 25th (33rd annual) 2 of my brothers jumped in my buggy to go for a night ride with 1 in another sxs. The Pioneer never made it back. Being out in the middle of the bush with no cell reception it took a while for help. Four of us did what we could to comfort the 2 riders until help arrived. Unfortunately we lost 1 buddy that night. The other was finally air lifted to hospital approximately 5hrs after the accident. He is nearing the end of his recovery and expected to make a full physical recovery. Mentally he will never be the same. I think we all know what causes these accidents. Usually it's too drunk or too fast or both. They might have a had a chance of walkin away if they were wearing their seatbelts. I'm just as guilty. It's a real shi**y deal to go through but life must go on. Stay safe. Some pics of my repair.
About 10 days after accident when the RCMP released my ride back to me. The flat deck delivered to my shop.
My son is Polaris tech and helped me a lot. I was pretty bummed out and he did most of the tear down for me.
Front right a-arms bent and top rear tab and frame bent. Installed Super ATV arched arms and new tires so I could get it rolling and off to the frame shop.
Awesome dude at the frame shop straighten and reinforced. Everything true again. Replace left rear knuckle assy, rotor and hub and blead brakes now it was time to test running gear.
Installed my fox shocks. They showed up right after the accident.
Put the rest of my parts lists together and got several quotes. The best price was Ron Ayers even after $2000 freight and duty. I've learned a lot about parts in Canada but I will make this is a separate post.
Replaced rad, fan bracket, front fender, headlight,tailight, complete roll cage. @SuperATV was awesome to deal with to get new hardware package for flip up windshield.
Decided to put in a cheap blue tooth audio system while roof was off. First timer on this and had help with a couple neighbours. Great time to have a few beers and tinker in the shop.
Finally finished. Just waiting for no snow.
