I've quite a few accessories planned for my Pioneer and after reading many threads at the Honda Forum about the BigRed, most owners had installed an auxiliary battery. In the Big Red, the main battery is under the front hood, but in our Pioneers the battery sits under the passenger side of the bench seat.
The cubby hole is just big enough for the motorcycle size battery, it actually looks to be the same as on my Rubicon.

So my question or thought is, where do I put an auxiliary battery? I may have to fab a base and mount it behind the radiator and fan shroud as seen in this link.

Anyone have any ideas as I don't remember seeing anything offered from Honda to support this.

Thanks!

Has anyone considered a second battery for heavy accessory usage under the drivers seat?

There seems to be enough room, but there would need to be a skid plate and heat shield.

I noticed once I had the voltmeter that there is a significant discharge, repetitive cycles of that are going to kill the battery.

I was thinking of a deep cycle Optima battery.
