Getting a P1000-5 in the back of a pickup, particularly a newer GM? Says it's too wide, but just by a hair. I was wondering if the tires would squeeze past the tailgate bulkhead, the rest should be a non-event. I have a long bed and I would like to see once it's in how much tire is on the tailgate.

Any takers? I'm in Afghanistan and I don't have the rig in front of me to test. I want to buy a bed cover and if the pioneer fits that will impact my decision.

TIA

Donnie

I think the only pickup's with wide enough beds will be the 73-87 GM trucks.

Plenty of room in 92 Cummins. Doesn't even squat.gets some looks though. Rear tires sit in the box but that's Dodge. If you find a truck that you can understand it's hard on gates

I was even considering a DiamondBack HD Bed cover, but the Hondas a little on the portly side. Diamondback only rates their covers to 1600lbs.

Bought a pickup so I don't have to pull doubles. Been looking at options from flatbeds to over the cab racks, but need the hitch extension to pull the camper

I think only the 90s dodges and Chevys are wide enough to get it in there. I'll look to see if you still selling them

Yeah, that's one if those diamond back covers. Pretty slick, but I don't care for that high of center of gravity. I'd like it to be lower in the truck bed

Don't get me wrong, it's tighter than a prom date, but there is about 2 inches to spare.
