P1000 Any hear of production issues with the 1000-5

Was at Dealer today where I got my Pioneer 1000-5 and they were suppose to get another 1000-5 but a 1000-3 just showed up that they were not expecting... They thought they were suppose to be getting a few more 1000-5 first. They were wondering if there was a production problem with the 1000-5 and said not to be surprised if there is a service recall on the 1000-5.

Anyone else hearing of this possible issue?

the 5 and 3 are basically the same machine except the box and roll cage. So it's probably not something mechanical.

Stopped at the Dealership again today. They were suppose to get another 1000-5 by the 15th of this month. Well that is 6 days over due. Now there Honda rep said that they will not see any until January.....

Still not certain this is due to demand or if there is an issue

The only production issues Honda has is the overwhelming demand for the Pioneer 1000's as it is their production line can roll off 110 SXS per day from the SC facility. This was from their press release put out in Sept. Now with everybody wanting one of a given type and color (4 models X 6 Colors) that complicated it that of the 110 per day that is only 2 per state approx. rolling off of the line. This is impacted by the fact the P700 & P500 also come off the same lines so they have to really hustle to feed demand. I would certainly think the demand for the P1000 and any future sport model would warrant their own line given the SXS Recreation / sport segment popularity all across the country.

Dealer told me he could get whatever I wanted....as long as it was red.
