Well after the dusty conditions at Takeover, I decided to snorkel the 500.
After watching an excellent series by @jay_man81 on snorkeling and venting I basically followed his snorkel plan with a few variations due to layout of my toolbox.
For some reason the link in P500 - Snorkeling and Venting doesn't work, but you can start watching his series here...
I cut OEM from the airbox in order to keep the resonators as in the video.
1-1/2" to 2" Fernco
(all following items are 2" SCH 40 PVC)
Straight 2-1/2"
Sweep 90
Street 45
Straight 4"
Sweep 90
Straight 7-5/8"
Sweep 22-1/2
Straight 13-3/8"
Sweep 90
Street 45
Straight 1/2" (holds nylon as a pre filter white ring in last photo)
Mocked up, marked and ready to glue
View from Fernco routed inside cage then back out to clear toolbox lid when opened
Ready for paint
Snorkel installed, seat back in place
Unpainted PVC retainer ring - holds knee high nylon prefilter
