Mine's mounted on the hitch with a u-bolt from the trailer dealer. I added some rubber shower pan liner between the bolt and the aluminum. It lays flat. I'll try to get a picture next time I walk past it. It kind of makes the tongue heavy when your moving it around by hand but no big deal.

My spare is steel. It definitely does add some tongue weight. I have a tongue jack with a wheel so it is easy to move around by hand.

I've done a couple Aluma's

Right stake pocket ( when backing up Better see that side of Trailter )

1 Behind Right fender ( 8218 Power Tilt ) helps take a little Tung Weight Off.

1 in in Front of Right Fender ( 7818 with Ramps )

Both Home Made Mounting Bracket to fit in Stake Porcket & Hold Tire / Wheel.

I like that Aluma vertical spare mount.

Outsider here with a 10ft Featherlite trailer bought long time before the P1K5 came along. Would like to have 12 ft or 16 ft now.

I have a cheap u-bolt style and put it on the side. I can still use my side pockets for the side rails when needed.
