How does the import tax work in Canada from US to Canada. From Canada to the US is $ 2,000.00 before the exise tax kicks in? So can you order a $ 500.00 kit and still be affected by a tax?I would appreciate knowing where Canadian owners found low priced power steering kits.
Just the provincial sales tax, 15%. It's the value of our dollar that makes it crazy, a $500 USD item will cost us $675 plus tax is $775. Plus brokerage fees, if we use a broker to bring it across. I live an hour from the border, so the wife and I usually make an afternoon out of it and bring it across personally. How does the import tax work in Canada from US to Canada. Well we could arrange some fishing trips and I'll bring you stuff! HA!It is the brokerage fee and shipping costs that are the real killers. I need to find a member that lives in or near Sault Set Marie Michigan that I can have parcels delivered to. The import duties, if any, are not to bad. The 14% GST is just a part of living in a country with "free" medical care.
