The factory heater is very expensive, especially if the dealer installs it for about a day's labor. I found a 3-speed marine heater for about $220 from Summit Racing and ordered a coolant bypass from Ice Crusher to provide low-engine RPM heat.

I did not run the heater ducts to the windshield or the dash, instead decided the engine firewall was way easier and would still heat the cab nicely. I thought I would share with the forum as it works great!

Sorry, i was away. the hater from Summit Racing was $$204, the hose and duct kit was $48 and the thermal coolant bypass was $80.
There were miscellaneous adapter from 5/8 to 3/4' heater hoses and some hose clamps.
Is that the 28000 btu unit? I see they have a 40000 btu unit also. Does anyone have any indication of how big a heater can be run ?

I almost went that way. The factory heater was out of stock but the dealer said he could get the inferno max. I also got a 10% discount because I was buying a new machine at the time. I think it was about $400 for everything. I went with it because I knew it was made to fit and I wouldn't have any install problems.
I had a UTV before with a glass windshield and cab with no heater and the biggest thing wasn't not having heat as it was the windshield fogging and having to have a rag to wipe it off all the time. I put the dash vents in the new one and I'm so glad I did because the defrost works great. You'll see what I mean if you ride in the cold and wet enough but you can always add it you to yours. What I like about the one you got was the 28000 btu. I have 18000 btu, but more is better in my book.

have you had a chance to use this and does it heat the cab, I'm in ND and need a good heater, which coolant lines do you splice into> thanks

If you haven’t sealed the bottom of the doors and most of the upper roof gaps with foam, it won’t matter how big of heater you have.

on my front lowers I used truck tailgate seal. Works awesome since 2018.

only thing that sucks about the seals is that you have to stop and open the doors to let the water out after crossing a stream in the summer…
