P1000 Access inside dash

To access the dash is it as easy as remove of the screws and trim fasteners that run along the bottom edge?

Not much required the dash to be removed.

I want to mount a RAM GPS mount in the slot under the warning label, did not want to drill into anything important in the dash, but it seems to be fairly empty space there. I will use well nuts to secure it.

Ya, there is lots of room under there.
Have you looked under the hood.
Not sure of your chosen location but you should be able to get back in there without removing all that.
