Will it be safe to RainX the hard
coat winshield? I thought it would
help is wet/rainy conditions.

Second, has anyone installed an
after market horn? I don't want to
tear my 1k3 completely down to
install the factory one. I am thinking
of using a momentary on my switch
panel.

Thoughts please.

I did rain-x both sides of my hard-coated 2 piece windshield a couple weeks ago....I cannot tell that it hurt anything.

I'm going to use the Rain-X for plastic too. I expect that two coats will perform good.

Thanks for this info

I used the Rain-X for plastic, it was awful until I got the sticky stuff from the protective wrap off. Once I had the windshield clean, it did a super job, clear as can be. Just give it a short while to evaporate dry, any streaks will disapear. I would recommend it highly.

For a horn I borrowed one from my stepsons Toyota pickup. Mounted it up front near the front diff and wired to temporary rocker on my switch plate. Works great. It's been under water more times than I can count. Still works.
