" but take a look at the new P1K that's coming out.... an engine that is capable of producing around 120 hp will probably only debut around 70-80 hp, leaving lots of room to play and make adjustments..."

and once again, alexa was pretty much right on the money ;)

I was just playing with the boost adviser. to get the 700 to come out right you had to back down the efficiency to 52%. on the 1000 the efficiency according to the calculator is 80%. with those number boost will be a mind boggling cant use it all 120 at 8 psi.with 90 ft of torque. I hope it has bigger drive shafts

yes! don't know if it will be modeled after the Africa Twin or the CBR - but with 999cc's, who really cares... lol

the cbr is an inline 4 , where the Africa twin is a parallel twin.....

The P1K is a Unicam twin cylinder...

Do we have a hybrid? :)

The ranger itself is cheaply made....and there 'WILL' be a move for many to Honda. I think the 77 HP will push a lot of Polaris owners over the edge.

I think the other manufactures were just involuntarily started down one of two roads, product quality improvement or irrelevancy.
It would be really weird if Suzuki introduced a SxS.

I personally have no concern for the other manufacturers, I just want a Silver 1000-5 in my garage with all the adds.
I don't have a SxS until Honda releases the 1000 for sale, I am having withdrawals.
I am sure I am not alone in the sentiment of take my money and give me my 1000!

Well, yeah okay, but all Polaris has to do is reflash the computer to get 75 horsepower in the Ranger since it is the same motor as the 75 hp RZR 900 and since the Honda will most likely be heavier the performance will be about the same or better. And if they want more power all they have to do is put the RZR 1000 in there and instant 110 horsepower, but a utility suspended vehicle doesn't need 110 so they will stay around the same as everyone else, in fact the horsepower will probably be matched when new models are released at the end of the month.
No, Polaris is not scared and no one else is either.

Honda has been a non contender forever in sxs sales with 3 strikes basically and they finally come up with a vehicle that the main stream public might want to buy and you guys get all huffed up like all the established manufacturers are going to run and hide LOL. Get real.

But Honda is in the game with a competitive contender which is great.

Actually the Polaris guys are mostly open minded and not brand loyal and the thread over there is overall very supportive of the 1000.

Hondarock, not really talking about the manufactures as much as the swell of Polaris owners who will be like "I always been loyal to Honda".

All these power #'s really boil down to a bunch of fluff. Doesn't mean a thing if you can't put it to the ground in a real world, usable situation. It will be some time before that info is known.

We all know if you remove the lawyers any of the manufactures could build a super bad machine.

I put 3,600 miles on my 2013 Ranger 900. It had so many problems and failures I sold it. Polaris turned down warranty because I had too many miles on it. That was it for me. I sold my RZR 570 too. Still have my 2011 RZR 900 with over 10,200 miles. It takes a long time to set it up for high mileage use and I still have to replace lots of parts and the whole belt drive system. Go read the Polaris forums and lots of problems. Lots of grease fittings and the suspension bushings need replacement at about every 3,000 miles. No seals on the drive shaft and they still use a roll pin to connect the drive shaft to the front dif. For $15,000 to $25,000 we should get great quality.

That's what i don't understand for that amount of money they should be better quality. That's been my argument about Polaris and can am for a very long time. I don't bring up the small things very often to me it's always been about overall quality. The smallest thing // problem can make any of them unless tho.

My girl friend has a 2007 Toyota corolla which she bought new...same cost at my 900xp Ranger....and the quality comparing both ....and the profit margin ?? A tube frame utv should cost the same as a street car with glass windows and safety guidelines needed to sell. No.
