The public announcement of each annual Takeover has been between November 15th to first week of December approximately. That said it will be posted on this forum members section first before going public, ie Facebook etc.

It's always held at Ride Royal Blue in Pioneer, TN. Typically in late April to early June as far as the dates are concerned. The dates should be announced soon, so just keep an eye out here.

Most people run UHF/VHF radios as they work better than CB in the mountains. You can get handheld models for relatively cheap or buy a vehicle mounted setup that'll have more reach. @elkaholic can steer you in the right direction in regard to radio gear (he's a comms vendor here).
