Would love to some day. Maybe when I quit farming. Never been to the desert. Is this a Talon Rzr only type environment or can 700's and 1000's tip toe through it?

@Lil_Steve invited me last year in his new Talon and my introduction to SxSs - it was an absolute blast. He did things in that thing I didn't know were possible. He signed up for a led ride each of 3 days, each ride had 20-30 cars of all kinds, big 4 seaters to tiny 1 and 2 seaters. Following others made the harder sections less intimidating but there were still places I got out to watch/walk and take a few photos.

I highly recommend it, there were tons of vendors, demo rides, meals, it's a great event. I'm north of 70 and still concerned about Covid so I'm up in the air about going back this year, otherwise I wouldn't miss it.

I had so much fun that I came home and bought a new Talon. :) 👍

My buddy learning what a pretty much stock Talon will, or will not, do. -

Smallest unit went everywhere the high bucks cars went but we weren't on the advanced rides.

I would say this event itself is more geared towards sport machines but Sand Hollow is very doable on just about any machine (as long as you stay away from the trails ranked above 6 or 7). My BIL thoroughly enjoyed a few days there in his RZR 800 trail. His only mods were wheel spacers and 27" Bighorns. It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL there...

Its awesome. DEFINITELY the most hardcore rock crawling I've ever done. Moab and Windrock are awesome, but the obstacles at Sand Hollow are no joke. It's all pretty doable for the stock machines if you have a winch. Most of the hardcore obstacles have work arounds and bypasses. Its a must-see for all riders. Nothing like it.

Although probably very similar, the event we attended last year was the SxS Adventure Rally. It's scheduled for November 12-14 this year. As much as I'd like to go to either/both, I'm not sure I can this year. I loved the riding at Sand Hollow so I highly recommend it to anyone that is thinking about it.

Apparently I still have lots to learn as I pretty much did a mirror image of that pic yesterday!

You might be in luck, border scheduled to re-open on 9/21 (if they don't extend the closure AGAIN)!!!

That's half the battle, my company requires a two week quarantine upon returning to country at the moment... If both are lifted i'll be there. Otherwise my usual month in AZ will be feb.

My friends have a cabin up there. Unknown if there's a tree on it, it's full of bears or if it's been cleaned out by the locals.

Well, i guess I must confess. From our front door to the gate into sand hollow is exactly two miles and we have never really been up there other than a couple of look arounds- just not our "cup of tea". However, if someone was to take some day trips of 1-200 miles out onto the strip while they were there, we might sneak into the back of the string:) not sure if we're going to be home by then or still on the summer excursions. I will follow this thread with interest.
