P500 2020 500 handbrake cable question - Circlip?

Should there be a circlip on the handbrake cable on the inside of the hole where cable goes through the housing - there is a small groove on the cable mount where it goes through the steel of the handbrake housing. Have noticed the outer cable is pushing back when brake is released.

Yes, there was one on my '16 & '18

If it's not on the diagram then it doesn't have one, looking at the manual they don't mentioned removing one either.

The big red parking brake cable was similar, no clip just the cable tension holding it in.
