Anyone interested in a winter desert sw trip

It isn't likely that I'll get out of here (Denver) before March at the earliest.

You'll need to be way south to get out of the cold. A few areas to look into -
1. Ocotillo Wells State Vehicular Recreation Area but it's in Kalifornia, I won't go there; most of my 'equalizers' aren't legal there. No idea how the riding is there, it looked to be open, mostly flat with a lot of washouts to add some challenge. Free camping there.
2. There are a lot of trails NW of Yuma according to GAIA GPS (free version and available for Apple, Android and Windows). But, and a big but - Kalifornia again.
3. Quartzsite, Arizona - its downside is the jagged rocks almost everywhere, it a tire eating area but has some challenging rock riding. I was able to ride over a thousand miles there with little duplication. Some areas are free but most aren't and there was a recent monstrous price hike affecting everyone that's snow birded there for decades.
4. Ajo, Arizona - a really pretty area but it's pretty timid riding and I covered 'all' of it <400 miles. Another new downside, thanks to this corrupt administration's open border policy - the highway that runs thru Ajo from the border is an illegal thoroughfare, ICE ignores it because of bigger problems elsewhere - IOW, I don't think it's a safe place for us.
5. NE of Tucson but that looks like mountain riding on GAIA which will drop temperatures.

Well yes, I have to agree about the size of the venue for 1000 miles trek.
