Runs like new and I would have 30,000 on it but I drive my 2016 Yamaha YXZ on the rides with the Turbo guys. My Yamaha has around 15,300 miles and had several failures. I had to replace the shift cable and one exhaust mount a bit before 12,000 miles. When the steel sleeve separates from the cable housing it won't shift into low range. Total cost so far is about $30.00 in parts plus tires and oil changes. My average speed is about 19 mph. I have owned 8 belt drive UTV's and it did cost a lot to get to 5,000 miles. I had 11,000 on my 2011 RZR900 and 16,000 on my 08 Teryx. The RZR had a lot of failures and the Teryx was a PITA to change the belt. This Pioneer 1000 raises the bar in reliability and ease of maintenance.

We shouldn't compare the Pioneer 1000 to sport models. It does set a high standard for the utility models and I run mine hard. Honda will probably use a version of this engine package in the 2019 sport models. I think Honda designed this engine to also be used in the sport models to keep the cost down and I expect around 100 hp. September, October, and November will be very interesting. I think Honda did a good job with the Pioneer 1000 for the first year model and the sport models should be better. The belt drive hating Sport guys will have a choice for next year.
