jak9922 has a great writeup on how to do this.
The suspension mods change the ride COMPLETELY. Instead of being bounced off the seat while going down a rough trail the suspension soaks it up. Also it seems the faster you go the better it works . Worth EVERY penny.
The newer canadian replacement shocks were put on at last service. They did improve ride a small bit ,but also lowered it by an inch.
